Coaching

Using more pragmatic and behaviorally oriented strategies than normally present in traditional, individual psychotherapy, coaching is emerging as another form of help that can benefit many individuals with ADHD.

Coaching involves an ongoing relationship between client and coach that is goal-based and individualized for each client. Coaching can focus on a variety of aspects of a client’s life including relations, work, exercise, nutrition, stress management and/or recreational needs.

Coaching can help individuals with ADHD to:

  • Plan and set goals
  • Become organized, learn time management skills and how to prioritize
  • Develop and maintain focus and concentration
  • Create and maintain medication logs
  • Utilize external structure, social support and encouragement
  • Work on social skills
  • Handle ADHD issues in the workplace
